The American Library Association's annual conference got some added star power as they closed proceedings last week.  Actress Jamie Lee Curtis was the conference's closing keynote speaker.

She addressed attendees on June 28th from 10-11:30 a.m.  There is no question that it was the perfect way to end an exciting week of activities for librarians and publishers.

The conference was held in Orlando, Florida from June 23-28.  There were over 2,000 events and hundreds of author appearances for people to check out.

Curtis has spent almost 40 years in the Hollywood spotlight.  Her film debut came in 1978 when she played Laurie Strode in the hit horror flick "Halloween".

That first appearance led to several appearances in horror films throughout the early 1980's.  The comedy film "Trading Places" netted Curtis a BAFTA Award and opened her career up to many other genres.

Cutis is a one-time Golden Globe winner and has been nominated on two other occasions.  She is already a New York Times bestselling author and her new book, "This Is Me: The Story of Who We Are and Where We Came From" will be published in September.
