Actress Mindy Kaling Speaks at Watermark Conference for Women Silicon Valley

Last Thursday, popular actress Mindy Kaling had the singular goal of inspiring women.  She was the keynote speaker at the Watermark Conference for Women Silicon Valley. 

The conference was held at the San Jose Convention Center.  I featured over 100 speakers that took part in different workshops and seminars.

Nearly 6,000 people took part in the event.  Kaling talked about her rise through the entertainment world and the responsibility she has as a role model for women everywhere. 

Kaling first came to prominence on the hit NBC series "The Office".  She played Kelly Kapour on the show and also served as an executive producer, writer and director on the series. 

In 2012, Kaling became the star of her self-created show "The Mindy Project" for FOX.  The show is currently in its fourth season and now airs on the digital platform Hulu.

Since getting her break on The Office, Kaling has also been featured on the big screen in several comedies.  Three years ago, she was also named to Time's list of the 100 most influential people in the world.
