Against Me! Lead Singer Laura Jane Grace Speaks at Thinklandia Next Month

Next month, Thinklandia takes place in Victoria, British Columbia as an extension of the musical festival, Rifflandia.  One of the special speakers featured at the fourth annual workshop is Against Me! lead singer Laura Jane Grace. 

The conference will be held at Dockside Green from September 9-13.  Rifflandia will follow the event from September 15-18. 

A five-day all-access pass for Thinklandia costs $52.50 and single day passes are also available.  There are speakers from across different industries but the key ideas are creativity and big ideas. 

Grace founded Against Me! as a solo act in 1997 and expanded the group into a quartet.  They have released six studio albums and hit it big with 2007's "New Wave" that landed on the Billboard Top 200 chart.  

In 2012, Grace stunned fans by coming out publicly as a transgender woman.  She has since become a leading advocate for trans issues around the world. 

The Advocate named Grace to their "40 Under 40" list in 2014.  Her autobiography, "Tranny: Confessions of Punk Rock's Most Infamous Anarchist Sellout", is scheduled to be released this fall.
