Color of Change Executive Director Rashad Robinson Speaks at Yale Civic Leadership Conference

Running one of the nation's largest civil rights organizations gives Rashad Robinson an idea or two about leadership.  Last Saturday, Robinson addressed nearly 100 students on the topic at the 2nd annual Yale Civic Leadership Conference.  

The presentation was held at Yale's West Campus and put on by the Yale Civic Leadership Initiative and Citizen University.  The conference inspires students to view themselves in a leadership position in their chosen fields.  

Robinson gave the attendees examples of how he has used his influence for change.  In addition to his speech, there was an afternoon student panel where they discussed issues on campus.

Robinson has been the executive director of Color of Change since 2011.  Last year, Fast Company put the organization on their list of 50 Most Innovative Companies in the World.

From 2010-2014, Robinson has been on the Root 100 list chronicling the emerging and influential African Americans under the age of 45.  He has led Color of Change in a campaign against the American Legislative Exchange Council and a fight to protect net neutrality with the FCC.  

Prior to working with Color of Change, Robinson held leadership positions with GLAAD, the Right to Vote Campaign, and FairVote.  He serves on the Board of Directors for RaceForward, Demos, and State Voices.
