One of the most prominent astronomers in the world was brought in to keynote the Conference of The Pennsylvania Communication Association.  David Levy spoke at the event that was held at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.

The 77th annual gathering of the conference was titled, "Communicating People, Places and Programs".  Levy's presentation took place in Blackington Hall last Friday and was titled, "Comets as Portents of Peace".

As part of Levy's appearance, he also held a star-gazing session at 8:15 p.m.  The entire event was open to the public.

In Levy's illustrious career, he has discovered as many as 22 comets.  He is well known for finding Shumaker Levy 9 that crashed into Jupiter in 1994.

Four years later, Levy won an Emmy for the documentary, "Three Minutes to Impact".  He is the author of 34 books, with most of them dealing with topics related to the world of astronomy.

Levy is the president of the National Sharing the Sky Foundation.  He holds a PhD from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and also has a master's in astronomy.
