Entertainment Mogul Ryan Seacrest Gives University of Georgia Commencement Address

One of the biggest names in entertainment is coming to the University of Georgia for commencement.  Ryan Seacrest is the school's speaker at their May 13th graduation ceremony.

The commencement will be held at Sanford Stadium at 7 p.m.  Tickets are not required for the ceremony and doors will open at 5:30 p.m. 

In addition to speaking, Seacrest will receive an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters.  He attended UGA for one year before moving to Hollywood to chase his broadcasting dreams.

Over two decades later, Seacrest is one of the most influential people in the media.  He rose to fame as the host of "American Idol" for each season until the end of the series this spring. 

Seacrest used that platform to launch into serving as the host and executive producer of ABC's "Dick Clark's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest".  He also hosts the nationally syndicated morning drive radio show, "On Air with Ryan Seacrest".

Much of Seacrest's success occurs off the mic with Ryan Seacrest Productions.  Through the company, he launched the hit E! show "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" and several spinoffs.
