Last week, one of the largest global business conferences took place in Montreal. There was no shortage of innovative leaders who spoke, including Etsy CEO Chad Dickerson.
C2 Montreal ran May 24-26 at Arsenal. Dickerson spoke on the opening day, Tuesday, in a conversation with Gigaom Head of Research Stowe Boyd.
Overall, C2 Montreal discussed the futures of collaboration, media, learning and work and making. The event brought out over 5,000 participants from more than 43 different countries.
Dickerson has been with Etsy since 2008, originally serving as CTO from 2008-2011. Since taking the reigns of the company, it has grown into a platform used by 1.5 million active sellers and 22.6 million active buyers.
Etsy also went public under Dickerson's watch. Last year, Business Insider magazine labeled him the "most important man in New York tech".
Prior to arriving at Etsy, Dickerson worked for Yahoo! leading the Brickhouse and Advanced Products teams. He has a bachelor of arts degree in English literature from Duke University.
