For this year's commencement ceremony, Drexel University went big.  They held the first universitywide ceremony in nearly two decades this past Saturday and they had it at the home of the Philadelphia Phillies, Citizens Bank Park.

Drexel also brought in a high-profile commencement speaker.  Former U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Donna Shalala spoke to the Class of 2016.

The 10 a.m. ceremony honored about 3,000 Drexel graduates.  Each of them received six premium tickets for the family while other general admission seating was also offered.

Shalala served in her presidential Cabinet position under Bill Clinton from 1993-2001.  She is the longest HHS secretary in U.S. history.

The relationship that Shalala formed over those eight years with Clinton had led to her current role as president of the Clinton Foundation.  She is also well known for her tenure from 2001 to 2015 as the president of the University of Miami.

When Shalala arrived at Miami, she leaned on her extensive experience in education that she accrued prior to taking her post in Washington.  In 2008, she received the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
