Our Revolution President Nina Turner Speaks at Lane Community College MLK Celebration

Our Revolution President Nina Turner has devoted her life to fighting for change. She recently spoke about another individual who also advocated to make America a better place, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. 

Turner was the keynote speaker for Lane Community College's MLK Celebration. The event took place on January 17th at 5:30 p.m. at LCC's Center for Meeting and Learning. 

Turner reflected on Dr. King's legacy. She also talked about the importance of poverty and education. 

Turner was a member of the Ohio State Senate from 2008-14. She originally began her career in politics as a legislative aide in the State Senate and was subsequently elected to the Cleveland City Council. 

Turner served as a surrogate for Senator Bernie Sanders during the 2016 Democratic presidential primaries. Today, she leads his organization, Our Revolution, that supports progressive causes. 

Turner is also a founding fellow of the Sanders Institute. She shares her views through several media platforms and is a regular CNN political commentator.
