There are not many better equipped to address all topics related to digital journalism then tech reporter Kara Swisher.  She will get to tackle those issues as the keynote speaker at the 17th International Symposium on Online Journalism

The symposium is being held on Friday and Saturday on the University of Texas campus.  Swisher will speak from 1:45-2:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Registration is closed but anyone can watch the weekend's various sessions online.  The ISOJ annually brings together media executives, journalists, and scholars from around the world.

Swisher is currently the executive editor of Re/code.  She also hosts the podcasts "Re/code Decode" and "Too Embarrassed to Ask".

Swisher began her career at The Washington Post and became a full-time technology reporter at The Wall Street Journal in 1997.  There, she chronicled the rise of Silicon Valley through her column "BoomTown".

In 2003, Swisher co-founded the D: All Things Digital tech conference which four years later led the way for AllThingsD.com.  She has also published two books mostly based on the rise and fall of AOL.
